Uvaldo "Pito" Pena

Uvaldo (Pito) Peña, passed away at the Raritan Bay Medical Center on Monday, September 6, 2021 of natural causes. He was born in Mamey La Vega, Dominican Republic. Pito with his wife Confesora Peña and their children immigrated to USA from La Vega, Dominican Republic in order to give their family a better life and that they did.

Pito owned Finefair Supermarket in Brooklyn, NY. Later, he began his career at the Perth Amboy Dry dock, where he worked for many years. He also invested in many real estate ventures before retiring at his residence on Grant Street in Perth Amboy.
In recent years, if you were lucky enough to come to visit, you   will be left with the memory of him sitting in his brown recliner,  making sure you were satisfied and  lots of love and kisses. At almost 90 years old he continued to keep his doors open for anyone who wished to stop in for a cup of coffee.

He is predeceased by his parents, Eduardo Peña and Julia Perez, his wife Confesora Peña and his son Miguel Peña.

Surviving are his 6 children; Luisa Baez, Rafael Peña, Alberto Peña, Teofilo Peña, Marisol Peña and Charlie Peña. 18 grandchildren and too many great grandchildren to count.

He was blessed with a big family and loved all his grandchildren very much,  Sherise Vargas, Christian Vargas, Desiret Peña, Jacqueline Peña, Naslyn Baez, Jessica Newman, Diandra Lynn Peña, Kelly Beidler , Jamie Peña, Natalia Peña, Jasmine Lewin , Christopher Peña, Jonathan Peña, Natalie Peña, Nicole Peña, Elaine Peña, Anthony Peña and Brianna Peña.

Marisol, his daughter, and Tanya Peña, his daughter in law, helped to care for him in recent years and especially in his last days. We are so grateful to know he was always surrounded with love from all his family and friends. To know Pito is too love him. We will forever miss his tender touch and that warm smile as you walked in the door.
Papi/Papá- We know you are now in heaven reunited with the love of your, Mami/Mamá, your parents and your son Miguel.  We will be together again one day, until then you will be forever in our hearts. We miss you dearly.
To my abuelo,  thank you for your sacrifices and giving us this amazing family. Te amo por siempre!

Visitation will be at Ana Maria Zevallos/Skrocki, Home for Funerals, 467 State Street, Perth Amboy, NJ 08861. On Friday, September 10, 2021, from 5-9 PM.

Funeral services will be on Saturday, September 11, 2021, at 9:00 AM at the funeral home, followed by a 10:00 Mass at Our Lady of Fatima Church.

Burial will follow in Alpine Cemetery.
