Theresa M. Wieckowski, 80, of Hopelawn, passed away on July 24, 2020 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick.
Theresa enjoyed life. Born in Kozlow, Tarnopol, Poland. She immigrated to America in 1951 at age 11 with her family. They settled in Perth Amboy, NJ. She married her beloved husband John on September 24, 1960. Theresa and her husband moved to Hopelawn, NJ in 1963 and resided there, until the time of their passing.
She was communicant of Saint Stephen’s Church at Saint John Paul II Parish.
Theresa worked in the dietary department at Roosevelt Hospital in Edison, NJ, until retiring at the age of 67. She enjoyed vacationing, bingo, casinos and most of all being around family. Known as the Christmas Eve pierogi queen. She enjoyed when friends and family came to celebrate. She also loved sitting outside on cool summer days with her family, friends, and neighbors. She will be remembered and missed by all.
She was predeceased by her husband, John Wieckowski and her daughter Donna Czirjak.
She is survived by her 2 children; John Wieckowski and his wife Eileen and Gregory Wieckowski and his wife Diane; her 6 grandchildren, Dr. Bridget Wieckowski and her fiancé Sergio Gutierrez, Matthew Wieckowski, Tanya and her husband Ryan Clothier, John Moran, Danielle and her husband Joseph Pohl and Katherine Moran; and her 4 great grandchildren, Daisy Moran, Jack Moran, Brianna Moran and Emma Pohl.
Visitation will be on Tuesday July 28, 2020 from 7-9 PM at Ana Maria Zevallos/Skrocki Home for Funerals, 467 State Street, Perth Amboy, NJ 08861.
Funeral services will be on Wednesday, July 29, 2020, at 9 AM at the funeral home, followed by a 10 AM Funeral Liturgy at Saint Stephen’s Church at Saint John Paul II Parish.
Private Cremation.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial donations be made to Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey. All visitors must wear a face covering and adhere to social distancing rules at all times. We are asking visitors to limit their time in the funeral home to allow the family the maximum amount of guests possible.
