Sister Zofia Sikora, 83, of Woodbridge, passed peacefully, on Sunday, July 21, 2019 at St. Joseph’s Nursing Home in Woodbridge.
She was born in Cherniechow, Poland, she joined the Congregation in 1956 in Stara Wies where she made her first profession in vows in 1959, and her perpetual profession in 1961. She was born in Member of the Little Servant Sisters of the Immaculate Conception.
Her life was dedicated to God, her religious community and people for whom she cared with commitment, kindness and joy through her service she approached and touched many. Sister was of peaceful nature and spreading smile, concern and foreseeing the needs of others. She was prayerful and many could counted on her prayers.
Before coming over to USA, she worked for a while in Poland in places such as Sanok (1958-1959) as a dressmaker, Radymno (1958-1962) Caritas, Ujanowice (1962-1969) Caritas and responsibly working in those other communities in the kitchen: Orzechowka (1969-1969), Kombornia (1969-1974), Munina (1974), Przemysl (1974-1980), Jaroslaw (1980-1989), Lezajsk (1989-1990).
In 1990 she came to the USA to continue working in the kitchen; Cherry Hill Provincial House (1990-2002), and for next five years in St. John Retreat House in Atlantic City. In 2007, with her keen mind, sister Zofia returned to Cherry Hill; retired to a prayer apostolate at the Provincialate. In 2019 came to St.Joseph’s Senior Home.
She was predeceased by her parents, Tomasz Sikora and Filomena Planeta.
Sister Zofia survived by her religious sisters at The Little Servants of the Immaculate Conception.
Visitation will be held Wednesday 9 to 10:45 a.m. and funeral mass at 11 a.m. at the chapel of St. Joseph’s nursing Home. Interment will followed in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Blackwood, Camden, NJ
