Rosa Barreiros, 91, of Woodbridge, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2026, surrounded by her loving family at Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy.
Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Rosa came to the United States in the 1970s, where she built a life centered on love, dedication, and family. She devoted herself wholeheartedly to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who were the greatest joy of her life. Rosa especially cherished the many weekends spent traveling to Pennsylvania with her family, creating memories that will be treasured forever.
She had a passion for crocheting and lovingly created handmade items for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, each piece reflecting her warmth and care.
Rosa was predeceased by her parents, Alfredo Canegallo and Rosa Ramona Horquera, as well as her beloved husband Oscar Barreiros.
She is survived by her three children: Oscar Barreiros and his wife Mirza, Ruben Barreiros and his wife Mirta and Claudio Barreiros and his wife Rita. She also leaves behind seven grandchildren; Jennifer, Melody, Pablo, Marcelo, Sebastian, Bonnie-Lyn and C.J. ; her ten great grandkids, Matías, Cieara, Alesandra, Christian, Eliana, Anelisse, Nicolás, Emma, Aubrey and Bryce.
And her dear niece Lucero and her husband Julio Barraquero, and their child, Betsabe.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 20, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Ana Maria Zevallos/Skrocki Home for Funerals, 467 State Street, Perth Amboy, NJ 08861.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Saint John Paul II Parish at St. Stephen’s Church, 490 State Street, Perth Amboy, NJ 08861. Family and friends are asked to meet directly at the church for the Mass.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her love, kindness, and the beautiful legacy she leaves behind.
