Rodney Vargas, 53, of Phillipsburg, unexpectedly passed away on November 15, 2020 in Phillipsburg.
He was born in Perth Amboy, NJ, later residing in Phillipsburg.
He was a handyman by trade, dedicating his career to roofing and other maintenance work over the years through his times in the private sector and his own business.
Rodney was full of life, kind, and always made you laugh. He worked so hard to create a better life for him and his family. It saddens me that he won’t get to see the full potential that I knew he had. We are grateful that our last memories of him are happy ones. Dad, your presence we miss, your memory we treasure loving you always, forgetting you never!
He is survived by his mother, Iris Leon, his father, Domingo Vargas, his daughter, Sherise Vargas, of Avenel, NJ, his son, Christian Vargas, his brother, Gabriel Rivera, his grandchildren; his niece and nephews Kyle, Jared, and Megan Rivera, and his loving aunts and uncles.
Visitation will be on November 20, 2020 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Ana Maria Zevallos/Skrocki Home for Funerals, 467 State Street, Perth Amboy, NJ 08861.
Burial will take place in Forest Green Memorial Park.
All visitors must wear a face covering and adhere to social distancing rules at all times. We are asking visitors to limit their time in the funeral home to allow the family the maximum amount of guests possible.
