Ramon Carde, 96, of New York, NY, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2025, at Harlem Hospital, surrounded by loved ones.
Ramon was born in San Sebastián, Puerto Rico, a place that always held a special place in his heart. In 1954, he moved from Puerto Rico to Pennsylvania, eventually settling in New York, where he built a life filled with love, friendships, and cherished memories.
A kind and sociable man, Ramon was known for his friendly demeanor and his ability to make connections with everyone he met. He was a devoted and loving father, grandfather, and uncle who cherished his family above all else.
Ramon was predeceased by his parents, Nicomedes Carde and Fela Diaz. He is survived by his six children: Edwin Carde and his wife Diamara, David Carde and his wife Marilyn, Miram Carde, Judith and her husband Edwin Valentin, Mirta Carde and her husband Ivan Rodriguez, and Luz Selenia and her husband Don Kish. He also leaves behind a remarkable legacy of 17 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren who will continue to honor his memory.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Ramon’s life during visitation on Thursday, January 16, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Ana Maria Zevallos/Skrocki Home for Funerals, 467 State St., Perth Amboy, NJ 08861.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 17, 2025, at 9:30 AM at the funeral home, followed by a burial at Alpine Cemetery.
Ramon's warmth, kindness, and love for his family will be forever remembered. May he rest in peace.
