Mario Luna Obituary

Mario Luna Sr., 80, of Perth Amboy, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2026, at Raritan Bay Medical Center.

Born in San Rafael, Argentina.

Mario was a strong and good man — tough on the outside, but kind in his own way. He loved simple things: Sunday morning breakfast with his family, playing chess, working hard, riding his motorcycle, weekend asados, and tending to his garden. He would give you the shirt off his back and was always there when you needed him most. There was always a lesson to learn from him.

Mario had a strong love for music, he enjoyed listening to Willie Nelson, Elvis Presley, Los Cantores de Alba, and many more.

Mario passed his love for music down to his children teaching and sharing how to play guitar, bombo, singing and the ambition to play piano.

He taught all his sons to be tough and very hard working. He made beautiful wine and could remodel a house with his hands and his heart.

He was predeceased by his parents, Ciriaco S. Luna and Eufemia Zapata, and by his oldest son, Mario.

Mario survives his longtime partner, Patricia; his loving sons, Michael, Daniel, and Gabriel; and his cherished grandchildren: Joshua, Alivia, Little Mario, Joel, Jacob, Jayce, Amelia, and the youngest, Cole.
