Manuel Antonio Torres, 60, passed away on Saturday, July 2, 2022 at the Raritan Bay Medical Center, in Perth Amboy, New Jersey.
Manuel, better known as Tony, was born in Lares, Puerto Rico. He has lived in Puerto Rico, Philadelphia, the Bronx, and eventually established residency in Perth Amboy in the early 1980s, where he worked in construction as a general contractor and started a family of his own.
Among friends and family, Tony was known as a skilled carpenter, avid fan of salsa, and loving jokester. His love for his family was the center of his world and he kept every card and picture ever sent to him. He was a man of faith who was thankful in times of great joy and prayed in times of sorrow. He loved fishing, sketching, hanging out with his grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and he mastered a mean hook shot.
Tony was preceded in death by his parents, Sergio Torres and Francisca Velez.
He is survived by his three children, Crystal, T.J., and Amanda and his five grandchildren, AJ, Dre, Sadie, Nio, and Raffy. He is also survived by his siblings Junior, Eddie, Elsie, Johnny, Nancy, David and Jesse. He was loved beyond measure by everyone who knew him.
Family, friends and others whose lives Tony touched are invited to Ana Maria Zevallos/Skrocki Home for Funerals, 467 State St., Perth Amboy, NJ, on Friday, July 8th, from 4 to 8 PM to reminisce, grieve, and support each other. He will be buried at Alpine Cemetery on Saturday, July 9th at 11 AM.
