Luis Enrique Payares Mendoza

Luis Enrique Payares Mendoza, 45, of Avenel, died suddenly on December 23rd, 2022, at JFK Medical Center, Edison, NJ.

He was a schoolteacher by trade, well known to his community. Active in the local teachers’ union in Colombia, he will be missed by students and colleagues alike. He was always known to be happy and funny with everyone he knew.

Luis is predeceased by his parents, Pablo Payares and Francisca Mendoza.

He is survived by his brothers, Jose and Oscar, his sisters, Astrid and Numidia, and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation hours will be on January 3, 2023 from 7 PM to 9 PM at Ana Maria Zevallos/Skrocki, Home for Funerals, 467 State Street, Perth Amboy, NJ 08861.

Private cremation.
