Juan Miguel Salazar Salinas

On Monday, January 25th, 2021, Juan Miguel Salazar Salinas, loving husband and father of seven children, passed away at the age of 67. Juan is survived by his 7 children.

Juan was born July 11th 1953, in Lima, Peru. Juan is the son of Lucy Salinas and Miguel Salazar.

Juan was able to complete his secondary education in 1970, and was a freshman in college

In 1971. However, due to life’s circumstances, Juan had to sacrifice his education and drop-out of post-secondary education to continue providing for his family. Juan married Carmen Rosa Huesa in 1973 and had 2 sons Cristian Emanuel Salazar, and Juan Carlos Salazar. Years after, his daughter Erika Milagros Salazar was born in 1977. Although, Juan was unable to continue pursuing his college education, Juan continued to strive and aspired for high-level positions on his career path. Moreover, when Juan worked in Peru, Juan was able to obtain the highest position in his occupation at the time, and was selected to become a member of a syndicate. Juan’s role included the delegation for workers’ rights, and management of international export routes.

As years passed, Juan’s son Luis Miguel Salazar was born in 1987, but due to high terrorism threats and the collapsing economy in Peru, Juan had to leave his home to find work in U.S.A on 1989. While living in the United States, Juan divorced his first wife in 1993. Later that year, Juan fell in love with Nancy Castro. Nancy had two children of her own Lisbeth Yachachin, and Jonathan Yachachin, who were accepted by Juan with loving arms. In 1996, Juan’s last biological child Kevin J. Salazar was born. Furthermore, in the year 2000 Juan was able to bring his son Luis to the United States, to give him a better education and expand his career choices. Juan dedicated his life to the Continental Soccer League, and he was an active member since the year 2000. Juan’s hard work and efforts for the Continental Soccer League, helped him achieve the title of president in the association. As a result of many years of dedication to the Continental Soccer League in the city of Perth Amboy, Juan received the highest award for his service to the community by Mayor Wilda Diaz. Juan received the city map, and conducted a celebratory speech prioritizing the importance of COVID-19 precautions. Juan continued his work as active president of the Continental Soccer League until the day he passed.

Juan’s devotion to El Senor de los Milagros (Lord Saint of Miracles) was unique among his family. Juan belonged to many Hermandades (brotherhoods) that demonstrated equal faith for El Senor de los Milagros, and along with other Hermandad members dressed in purple cloaks, Juan participated in carrying a 1000lb shrine of the saint in holy procession. Juan was proud of his achievement to become one of the founding members for La Hermandad del Senor de los Milagros in Perth Amboy, for La Asuncion church. To add, Juan participated yearly processions, every Sunday in the month of October. As the years went by, Juan’s loyalty for El Senor de los Milagros expanded, and Juan’s commitment allowed him to become a member for different Hermandades such as: San Patricio (Saint Patrick’s Church), and San Benito’s Church.

Visitation will be on January 31, 2021 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Ana Maria Zevallos/Skrocki Home for Funerals, 467 State Street, Perth Amboy, NJ 08861.

10 AM Funeral Mass will be on Monday, February 1, 2021 at Our Lady of Hungary Church.

El lunes 25 de enero del 2021, Juan Miguel Salazar, esposo amoroso y padre de siete hijos, falleció a la edad de 67 años. Juan nació el 11 de julio de 1953, en Lima, Perú.  Juan es hijo de Lucy Salinas y Miguel Salazar.

Juan completó la secundaria en 1970 y fue a la universidad, pero en 1971, debido a las circunstancias de la vida, Juan sacrificó su educación y abandonó la universidad para continuar ayudando a su familia.  En 1973 se casó donde tuvo dos hijos, Cristian y Juan Carlos.  Cuatro años después, su hija Erika nació.

Aunque Juan no pudo continuar con su educación universitaria, él continuó esforzándose y aspirando a puestos de alto nivel en su trayectoria profesional.  Durante el tiempo que Juan trabajó en Perú, pudo obtener el puesto más alto en su ocupación y hasta fue seleccionado para convertirse en miembro de un sindicato. El rol de Juan incluyó la delegación de los derechos de los trabajadores y la gestión de las rutas de exportación internacionales. 

En 1987, Luis Miguel, el cuarto hijo de Juan nació. Debido a las altas amenazas terroristas y el colapso de la economía en Perú, Juan tuvo que dejar su casa para buscar un nuevo horizonte en Estados Unidos.

Juan se divorció en 1991 y dos años después cayó rendidamente enamorado de Nancy. Lisbeth y Jonathan, hijos de Nancy, fueron aceptados por Juan con mucho amor y cariño. En 1996, Kevin, el último hijo biológico de Juan nació. Años mas tarde Juan pudo traer a su hijo Luis Miguel a este país para darle una mejor educación y mejores oportunidades. 

La devoción de Juan por El Señor de los Milagros fue única.  Juan perteneció a muchas hermandades que demostraron la misma fe por El Señor de los Milagros. Junto con los miembros de la hermandad vestidos con mantos morados, Juan participaba cargando las andas de 1000 libras en diferentes procesiones.  Juan participó en este evento anualmente, durante los domingos del mes de octubre.  Con el paso de los años, la lealtad de Juan hacia el Señor de los Milagros fue creciendo, y el compromiso de Juan le permitió integrarse a diferentes hermandades como la de Monte Carmelo (Newark) San Patricio (NY) y Segunda Cuadrilla (NY)

Al mismo tiempo, Juan dedicó su vida a la Continental Soccer League donde fue miembro desde el año 2000. Como resultado de muchos años de dedicación a la Continental Soccer League en la ciudad de Perth Amboy, Juan recibió el máximo galardón por sus servicios a la comunidad. El premio fue otorgado en el 2020 por la alcaldesa Wilda Díaz donde Juan recibió el mapa de la ciudad y pronunció un discurso de celebración dando prioridad a la importancia de las precauciones del COVID-19. Juan continuó su labor como presidente activo de la Continental Soccer League hasta el día de su fallecimiento.
