In loving memory of Josefina de Jesus who went home to be with the Lord on December 26, 2020.
Josefina was born in Yaque Abajo, Jánico, in the Dominican Republic. She emigrated with her family to the United States at the age of 16.
She loved to cook, listen to music, and take care of family and friends. Her children were her pride and joy. She was a congregant of Our Lady of Fatima Church in Perth Amboy, and was a faithful devotee of La Virgen de la Altagracia. She was a dedicated housewife who volunteered at hospitals and orphanages. In her later years she worked as a sales Associate at Target for 12 years where she enjoyed assisting customers and greeting them with a smile. Josefina was a loving mother, aunt, and sister.
She is preceded in death by her son Elvis de Jesus, parents Jose and Maria Diaz, and sisters Acela Abreu, Margarita Diaz, and Angie Diaz.
She is survived by her daughter, Ivelis de Jesus, siblings Fausto Diaz, Marianela de Jesus, and Teo Diaz, and her nieces and nephews who love her very much.
Funeral mass will take place at Our Lady of Fatima, at 10 AM on Tuesday, January 5, 2021.
Burial will take place in Woodbridge Memorial Gardens.
