John Reszko, a lifelong resident of Perth Amboy, passed away at the age of 94 on January 25, 2025, at St. Joseph’s Senior Home in Woodbridge. He was born in Perth Amboy, where he spent his entire life.
John was a communicant of St. Stephen’s Church and a proud U.S. Army veteran, serving from 1948 to 1951 and receiving the Army of Occupation Medal. He loved to travel, play bingo and cards, walk by the waterfront, and ride his bicycle around the city. John was also an avid fisherman and a fitness enthusiast, regularly participating in activities at the YMCA.
John worked as a construction worker for over 30 years. He was predeceased by his parents, Adam and Czeslawa Reszko.
He is survived by his sister Helen Leslie, four nephews: Stanley Reszko, Michael Feretich, David Feretich, and Kenneth Leslie; and two nieces: Patricia McCrone and Karen Leslie.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 30, 2025, from 4-7 PM at Ana Maria Zevallos/Skrocki, Home for Funerals, 467 State Street, Perth Amboy, NJ 08861. Funeral services will take place on Friday, January 31, 2025, at 9 AM at the funeral home, followed by a 10 AM mass at St. Stephen’s Church, Perth Amboy.
Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Parlin.
