 Rodriguez, 95, of Hopelawn, passed away peacefully at his residence on Saturday, January 17, 2026.

He was born in Janico, Dominican Republic, and later moved to the United States approximately 48 years ago. Emergildo was a devoted father and grandfather who always wanted the best for his children. He dedicated his life to serving others, generously providing food and clothing whenever needed. He was a hardworking man, deeply supportive of his family in every way, and was known as a loving and caring grandfather.

Emergildo had a great love for music, was always elegantly dressed, and took pride in being well organized. His kindness, generosity, and strong work ethic will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife and his parents, Eliseo Rodriguez and Feliciana Collado.

He is survived by his children: Pascual Rodriguez and his wife Doris; Jesus Rodriguez and his wife Amalfi; Juan Rodriguez; Faustino Rodriguez and his wife Justina; Adriano Rodriguez and his wife Deniris; Maria T. Hernandez and her husband Miguel Hernandez; Maria F. Diez and her husband Juan Diez; Maria C. Rodriguez and her husband Emilio Fernandez; Esperanza Rodriguez and her husband Vicente Plasencia; Aracelis Rodriguez and her husband Mark Montalvo; as well as Obidia Rodriguez and Florinda Rodriguez.
He is also survived by 27 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.

Visitation hours will be held on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Ana Maria Zevallos / Skrocki Home for Funerals, 467 State Street, Perth Amboy, NJ 08861.

Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by a 10:00 a.m. Mass at Saint Stephen’s Church.

Burial will follow at Alpine Cemetery.

Emergildo Rodríguez, de 95 años, residente de Hopelawn, falleció en paz en su residencia el sábado 17 de enero de 2026.

Nació en Jánico, República Dominicana, y emigró a los Estados Unidos hace aproximadamente 48 años. Emergildo fue un padre y abuelo ejemplar, que siempre quiso lo mejor para sus hijos. Dedicó su vida a servir a los demás, brindando alimento y ropa a quienes lo necesitaban. Fue un hombre trabajador, siempre apoyando a su familia en todos los aspectos, y un abuelo amoroso y dedicado.

Amante de la música, siempre se distinguió por su elegancia al vestir y por ser una persona muy organizada. Su bondad, generosidad y ética de trabajo permanecerán en la memoria de todos los que tuvieron el privilegio de conocerlo.

Le precedieron en la muerte su esposa y sus padres, Eliseo Rodríguez y Feliciana Collado.

Le sobreviven sus hijos: Pascual Rodríguez y su esposa Doris; Jesús Rodríguez y su esposa Amalfi; Juan Rodríguez; Faustino Rodríguez y su esposa Justina; Adriano Rodríguez y su esposa Deniris; Maria T. Hernández y su esposo Miguel Hernández; María F. Díez y su esposo Juan Díez; María C. Rodríguez y su esposo Emilio Fernández; Esperanza Rodríguez y su esposo Vicente Plasencia; Aracelis Rodríguez y su esposo Mark Montalvo; así como Obidia Rodríguez y Florinda Rodríguez.
También le sobreviven 27 nietos y 30 bisnietos.

Las horas de velación se llevarán a cabo el martes 20 de enero de 2026, de 6:00 p.m. a 9:00 p.m., en Ana Maria Zevallos / Skrocki, Home for Funerals, ubicado en 467 State Street, Perth Amboy, NJ 08861.

Los servicios funerarios se celebrarán el miércoles 21 de enero de 2026, a las 9:00 a.m. en la funeraria, seguidos de la Santa Misa a las 10:00 a.m. en la Iglesia Saint Stephen.

La sepultura se realizará en el Cementerio Alpine.
