Domingo Antonio Torres Abreu, 90, of Brooklyn, NY, passed away on May 19, 2025, at his residence. He was born in Lora Janico, Dominican Republic, and moved to New York in 2005. He cherished spending time with his family in New York and Perth Amboy. A hardworking individual, he was a faithful Catholic who loved reading the Bible. He worked in agriculture for most of his life, enjoying planting vegetables and sharing his harvest with his family.
He is predeceased by his wife, Teresa Arias de Torres, and his parents, Jose Eugenio Torres and Florinda Abreu.
He is survived by his eleven children: Nicolas Torres and his wife Marilyn, Cecilio Antonio and his wife Miriam, Pedro Jacinto Torres and his wife Ana Iris, Roberto Antonio Torres and his wife Eliza, Evangelista Torres and her husband Nicolas Burdier, Virgen Matilde Torres, Francisca Oneida and her husband Emilio Nuñez, Eudocia Torres, Reyna Isabel Torres and her husband Alberto Viña, Juana Herenia and her husband Jeury Viñas, and Mercedes Altagracia Torres and her husband Victor Torrez. Additionally, he leaves behind 35 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.
Visitation hours for family and friends will be held on Friday, May 23, 2025, from 4-9 PM at Ana Maria Zevallos/Skrocki, Home for Funerals, 467 State Street, Perth Amboy. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 9 AM at the funeral home, followed by a 10 AM mass at Saint John Paul II Parish at St. Stephen’s Church. The burial will take place at Rosehill Cemetery, Linden.
