David Martinez Perez

David Martinez Perez, of Fords, passed away on July 15th, 2023, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ, at the age of 55. 

In 1983, David left his native El Salvador to immigrate to the United States. He initially took on the construction trade before serving as a Pastor at the Pentecostal church, Caminando en el Batallon de Cristo in Fords, NJ. His dedication to his spiritual community was unwavering, and he touched the lives of many through his compassionate guidance, hardworking nature, and uplifting sermons.

Outside of his pastoral duties, David had a passion for fishing. He found solace and joy in spending time by the water, casting his line and enjoying the tranquility of nature. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and was known by all to be a funny and amiable person to be around.

David was predeceased by his mother, Teodosa Perez, and his father Humberto Martinez. He is survived by his wife, Mirna Paniagua, his children: Santos, Antonio, Brayan, Maribel, Lillian, Maria Consuelo, and Gilda; his stepchildren Luis, Marlon, Dennis, Maricela, and Paola, and his 11 grandchildren.

Visitation and funeral services will be on Tuesday, July 18th, 2023, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Ana Maria Zevallos/Skrocki Home for Funerals, 467 State Street, Perth Amboy, NJ 08861.

Burial will take place in Forest Green Park Cemetery in Marlboro, NJ.
