Calixta Sime de Plasencia

Calixta Sime de Plasencia, 90, of Perth Amboy, passed away on June 17, 2024, at Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy, NJ.

Born in Janico, Dominican Republic, Calixta immigrated to the United States in 1989. She was known for her love of singing, flowers, and her willingness to help anyone who needed it. She was also known for her faith, as she regularly prayed. She was a faithful communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church in Perth Amboy. Calixta will be missed by all who knew her.

She is predeceased by her parents, Juan Antonio Sime and Salustina Gutierrez, and her son, Mariano Antonio.

Calixta is survived by her children, Ana Luisa, Saturnino Epifanio, Leonidas Mercedes, Francisco Javier, Gerardo Andre, Juan Antonio and Carlos Manuel, her 18 grandchildren, and her 15 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Thursday, June 20th, 2024, from 5 – 9 PM at Ana Maria Zevallos/Skrocki Home for Funerals, 467 State Street, Perth Amboy, NJ 08861.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 21st, 2024, at 9:00 AM at the funeral home, afterwards a 10:00 AM mass at Our Lady of Fatima Church, followed by the burial, which will take place at St. Stephen’s Cemetery, in Keasbey, NJ.
