With profound sorrow, we announce the passing of Mr. Arcangel Cobena Vera, who departed peacefully on December 24, 2025, in Perth Amboy, New Jersey.

Born in Calderón, Ecuador, Arcangel was a man of strong values, firm convictions, a generous heart, and wise words. His presence brought strength, guidance, and tenderness to his family, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Arcangel was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Maria Esther Cobena Acosta, with whom he shared 60 years of a loving and happy marriage.

He is survived by his siblings, Diocles and Marleny; his eight children: Flor Maria Cobena, Nayo Cobena, Clemidio de los Santos Cobena, Sixther Javier Cobena and his wife Gina Rosaria, Jose Stalin Cobena and his wife Miguelina, Gina Maria Cobena and her husband Luber Macías, Yuly Maria and her husband William Harvey, and Sandra Liliana and her husband Bruce Schein; as well as his cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Arcangel will be remembered as an exemplary father, a caring and kind man, responsible, hardworking, a loyal friend, and someone with a truly noble heart.

Visitation hours will be held on Monday, December 29, 2025, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Ana Maria Zevallos/Skrocki Home for Funerals, located at 467 State Street, Perth Amboy, NJ 08861, followed by interment at Clover Leaf Cemetery.

The family expresses their heartfelt gratitude for the many expressions of love, support, and condolences received during this difficult time.

Con profundo dolor anunciamos el fallecimiento del Sr. Arcangel Cobena Vera, quien partió en paz el 24 de diciembre de 2025, en Perth Amboy, Nueva Jersey.

Nacido en Calderón, Ecuador, Arcangel fue un hombre de sólidos valores, firmes convicciones, corazón generoso y palabras sabias. Su presencia llenó a su familia de fortaleza, guía y ternura, y será profundamente extrañado por todos los que tuvieron el privilegio de conocerlo.

Arcangel fue precedido en la muerte por su amada esposa, María Esther Cobena Acosta, con quien compartió 60 años de matrimonio lleno de amor y felicidad.

Le sobreviven sus hermanos Diocles y Marleny; sus ocho hijos: Flor María Cobena, Nayo Cobena, Clemidio de los Santos Cobena, Sixther Javier Cobena y su esposa Gina Rosario, José Stalin Cobena y su esposa Miguelina, Gina María Cobena and her husband Luber Macías, Yuly María and her husband William Harvey y  Sandra Liliana y su esposo Bruce Schein; así como sus queridos nietos y bisnietos.

Arcangel será recordado como un padre ejemplar, un hombre cariñoso y bondadoso, responsable, trabajador, buen amigo y de corazón noble.

Las horas de velación se llevarán a cabo el lunes 29 de diciembre de 2025, de 9:30 a.m. a 11:30 a.m., en Ana María Zevallos/Skrocki Home for Funerals, ubicado en 467 State Street, Perth Amboy, NJ 08861, seguido del sepelio en el Cementerio Clover Leaf.

La familia expresa su más sincero agradecimiento por las muestras de cariño, apoyo y condolencias recibidas durante este difícil momento.
